Brief History

The journal BBR – Brazilian Business Review was created in 2004, being entirely designed in a digital environment.

In 2006, the periodical BBR – Brazilian Business Review was registered in Latindex – Regional Online Information System for Scientific Journals in Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal. Subsequently, BBR became part of the EBSCO Publishing database located in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. This is an important step towards consolidating BBR – Brazilian Business Review as an international scientific journal.

In 2007, the journal BBR- Brazilian Business Review was classified as NATIONAL A by Qualis /CAPES. Qualis is the result of the process of classifying vehicles used by postgraduate programs to disseminate the intellectual production of their teachers and students, according to CAPES.

In 2008, with the change in the Qualis/CAPES classification criteria, the BBR journal began to have a new classification, B2.

In 2013, the periodical BBR – Brazilian Business Review, became part of Spell – Scientific Periodicals Electronic Library, which is a system for indexing, searching, and making scientific production available free of charge, and RePEc – Research Papers in Economics, a database bibliography dedicated to Economics and related disciplines.

In 2015, the new classification by Qualis/CAPES evaluated the journal BBR as one of the main national journals in the area, reevaluating it as B1.

In 2017, the journal was classified as stratum A2 by the Qualis/CAPES assessment, the second highest level of general assessment and the highest currently achieved among Brazilian academic journals. In the same year, the journal was indexed by SciELO.

In 2018, the journal BBR was selected by the Content Selection & Advisory Board for inclusion in Scopus.

From volume 21 of 2024 onwards, BBR will adopt the continuous publication system (rolling pass), making article publication faster.

The abbreviated title of the journal is BBR, which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references, and bibliographic captions.
